MENS FASHION: SEXI SUMMER SWIMWEAR 2011

HEADS WILL TURN!!.....

SUMMER IS HERE once again, and so is the sexi swimwear......i just wish my BODY was here.....im still working out the kinks in the GYM!.........But for all of you guys who were ready for this season...... ready to show off all the hard work you put into sculpting those abs......These little shorts may do the trick, grabbing the attention of onlookers at your local pool or the sandy beach.  The LA based company, Timoteo recently released their swimsuits for 2011. I spent some time on their website this morning deciding which suits I would wear if i were gonna drop trow and dive in.  Here are the ones I have been able to narrow it down to:

Navy Paisley Waves: $46.00 A simpl yet bold, and sexy cut that is perfect for exercise or play!

SPEEDSTER: $49.00 I am a huge fan of retro styles. This square cut suit, with its low rise waist and cleanly cut bottom is a perfect update to a very retro style. This style comes in four additional styles/patterns.

CONTENDER: $46.00 This is the style that I am going to have to go with. I have a complete addiction to turquoise. I especially love when turquoise is accented with white. This suit, like the previous two suits has a front pouch built in for comfort. This suit comes in two additional colors.

SUPER LOW: $38.00 This one came in a very close second for me. I love the pattern, and of course the low cut. I am a sucker for anything low cut. I am having trouble not staring at this one. This style comes in eight additional colors.

TUESDAY DELECTABLES.....YUMMY DETOX SALAD

SUMMER DETOX SALAD

Hello summer time fun. Traveling, drinking, late night ice cream runs. The usual.
Oh and hello there bathing suit. Didn’t see you coming. Right.
It seems as though many of you are in that boat, no? I’m pretty sure I saw something on twitter or facebook about you wanting to detox after your splurging…
Well, here ya’ go!
I bought this cleanse book a while back, mainly for the recipes. The great part about the book is there are hundreds of healthy recipes, from the 3-day face-lift cleanse, to the “some like it raw” cleanse to the Mexican Fiesta. I like how the book (& recipes) are around body, mind and spirit – not, LOSE WEIGHT NOW! ......WELL FOR THOSE WHO NEED TO LOOSE IT........Ok, stop screaming and no thank you.
This salad was one of the first recipes I had tried. It had avocado. Obviously. It’s refreshing and light, perfect for eating while your laying out by the pool. If it’s not scorching hot, have this along with a cup of soup. Need extra protein? Add a handful of beans, piece of grilled fish or tofu. Lots of options!

Any detox recipe that involves avocado, done. I’m in.
You too? Wait until I share my new green drink. It’s good for being a true green drink, that’s all I can say.

Richards Summer Friendly Salad

Serves 1
Ingredients
  • ½ head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ½ cup endive, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup arugula
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ avocado, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of almonds, chopped – I soak my almonds overnight, easier to digest
Dressing
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or flaxseed oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • ¼ tsp garlic, minced
  • pinch of sea salt
Directions
Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt.
Salad: In a large salad bowl, toss together romaine, endive, and arugula. Add tomatoes and sliced avocado. Sprinkle with chopped almonds. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss.
Transfer to bowl or plate or if you’re like me, eat out of the mixing bowl. Enjoy!

Monday DESIGN INSPIRATION: THE PADED BED

 -THE PADED BED -

HAPPY Monday blog readers......So i was laying in my bedroom
one morning......i became inspired by so many beautiful beds i found on the internet that had a tufted appearance sooooo i decided to hit up my local fabric store, grab my staple gun.....LOL......and throw down!!..........I love to create new things.....this was a fun project........

Upholstered headboards soften a space opposed to having a bed made of wood, metal, etc.  It’s a great way to introduce a fabric which has pattern, texture, and/or color…this fabric can tie into/coordinate with your window treatments and/or pillows, OR stand alone and be the focal point of your bedroom.

Check out these upholstered headboards…

{ALL different, ALL Beautiful}

Styles are vast and range from simple to detailed, traditional to modern, formal to funky!  A headboard can be the statement piece of the room or blend in with the other selections AND it’s easy to make one of your own!

THE TRADITIONAL TUFT!!!

BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES RENEWS ANOTHER SEASON!!

BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES RETURNS!!!!!

The fans have spoken, Braxton Family Values has been renewed for a second season only four episodes into the current season. WE tv announced  that due to the show's success, the Braxton sisters will be returning with 13 all-new episodes in 2012.

Dubbed by Entertainment Weekly as "...guilty pleasure gold", WE tv's newest cash cow chronicles the triumphs and pitfalls of Grammy winning singer-songwriter Toni Braxton and her four sisters Tamar, Trina, Towanda, and Traci.

Toni recently expressed her gratitude to fans for their support of the reality tv show. She said, "My Family and I are so grateful for the love and support the fans have for the show.” She added, “We all hoped people could relate to our family dynamic and are thrilled with the positive response we have received. We are all very much looking forward to bringing you another eventful season of Braxton Family Values.”

Haven't had the chance to catch Braxton Family Values? It's not too late - the show airs every Tuesday at 9pm on WE tv.

TONI B. ON HER ILLNESS!

I was sad to see that Toni Braxton has been having a tough time of it—and no one knew just how tough it's been.
The singer revealed today at a luncheon benefiting lupus awareness and research that she too is battling the potentially deadly autoimmune disease.
"Take a look, this is what lupus looks like," Braxton said to a surprised audience as she accepted one of two Women in Achievement awards at the 8th Annual bag Ladies Luncheon. (Rachel Zoe received the other one.)

Lady Gaga spoke up earlier this year about testing "borderline positive" for lupus, which has affected other members of her family. She bought ad space for Braxton in the event program, writing the message, "Toni, your strength is admirable. As a woman whose family has been affected by lupus, I understand your struggle and have you in my thoughts. —Gaga."
Sadly, Braxton is no stranger to health problems. The American Heart Association spokeswoman also suffers from pericarditis, an inflammation of the heart lining that has left her prone to high blood pressure and heart palpitations and has interfered with her performance schedule over the years.
She also had what luckily turned out to be a benign tumor removed from her breast shortly after her run on Dancing With the Stars in 2008.
